You must be within 4 months of your State Pension age to claim to start your pension,
but you can ask for a ‘State Pension Forcast’ at an time:

Applying online is the quickest way to get a forecast. If you’ll reach your State Pension age in more than 30 days you can also:
1. fill in the BR19 application form and send it by post. Available here:

2. or call the Future Pension Centre who will post the forecast to you:
