About the Speaker:
Emma grew up in Peterborough, Canada in a loving family with an older sister and two social workers for parents.
The values of kindness, openness and inclusion were instilled in her from a young age. As a sixteen year old she had her first taste of international travel and exposure to a different culture when she spent one month studying and travelling around Kenya on an experience trip. This sparked her passion for wanting to learn how she could make a positive impact in the world, leading her to earn her Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies at Trent University including a year abroad studying in Ghana, and further completing a Postgraduate certificate in International Project Management from Humber College with an internship in Jordan. This all helped prepare her to work in the nongovernmental and charity sector, finally leading her in 2013 to Pattaya and the Father Ray Foundation. Passionate about human and child rights, working for Father Ray Foundation was a natural fit. Over the past 4 ½ years Emma has worked on the International Fundraising team raising funds from individuals, companies, community organizations, and foundation and government grants from countries around the world. Her personal relationships with the children and students have helped her to see the impact her work has first hand, an amazing gift that not all fundraisers get the change to have. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring Thailand – with Myanmar being next of her list of places to visit.

Thai culture is governed by respect, so the way you dress reflects how you respect yourself and others. However we are informal, so short sleeved shirts covering shoulders and chest and shorts are fine.
